InPost – the leader among e-commerce delivery platforms in Europe – in consultation with Otto Group successfully finalized the acquisition of Mondial Relay, a leading French company delivering out-of-home parcels. The value of the transaction was EUR 513 million. Thus, InPost will become the largest e-commerce delivery platform in Europe
InPost and Mondial Relay together delivered over 440 million shipments in 2020, supported by a network of approximately 28,000 locations at APM and PUDO points. Mondial Relay, with an extensive network of PUDO points and wide pan-European trade relations, will allow InPost to accelerate the implementation of international expansion plans.
It will also ensure an immediate presence in one of Europe’s largest and most attractive e-commerce markets with a strong accelerated growth foundation, Mondial Relay’s scalable logistics network, broad pan-European trade relationships, and strong consumer appreciation – which will provide a strong foundation for further growth.
InPost also gains a well-established and fully integrated e-commerce delivery platform in the third largest e-commerce market in Europe. It is estimated that the French e-commerce market, estimated at around EUR 56 billion, boasts one of the highest out-of-home penetration rates in Europe – at around 40%.
